iPhone 5 nano-SIM price plans announced by Three

Three has broken cover with pricing for nano-SIM-only plans, as the size of the outlay you’re looking to be an iPhone 5 owner becomes apparent by increments.

Nano-SIMs are the new, smaller standard of SIM card adopted by Apple for its just-announced smartphone in the interests of space-saving.

Aimed at smartphone buyers who prefer to buy a handset outright and sans contracts and choose a plan after, Three’s nano-SIM plans’ allowances are unchanged from standard SIMs and micro-SIMs.

That means they start at £6.90 per month for the Essential Internet SIM 200, which includes 500MB of data, 200 minutes and 5,000 texts per month.

Heavy users are catered for by the One Plan. Priced £25 per month, this gets you monthly allowances of 2,000 minutes and 5,000 texts, plus all-you-can-eat data.

It’s worth noting, however that, like all UK carriers except EE, Three does not yet have the 4G network to allow users to take advantage of the super-fast mobile internet speeds of which the iPhone 5 is capable.

The iPhone 5 officially goes on sale on September 21st, with pre-orders starting in two days’ time on September 14th.

As expected, the entry level 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models will be priced at $199, $299 and $399 respectively in the US when bought on a two-year contract. UK prices are likely to become apparent tomorrow when pre-orders start.
