Rumours that the iPhone 5 will be released on September 21st got juicier today amid fresh corroboration that that’s the date the next-gen kit will begin shipping to consumers’ hands.
Citing a ‘trusted source’ familiar with Apple’s plans, GottaBeMobile reports that the Cupertino-based giant is drafting additional staff to ensure mass shipments of the handset goes without a hitch when it launches in two weeks’ time.
Rumours have been doing the rounds that pre-orders for the iPhone 5 will start the same day it is officially announced, hotly tipped to happen on September 12th.
Apple’s sixth tilt at a smartphone is mooted to be a taller, slimmer affair than past iterations to accommodate a more expansive, four-inch display, a quad-core processor and NFC and 4G support.
A revamped ‘mini’ dock connector is also said to be on board that will replace the current 30-pin standard on all future iDevices.
