Rockstar has officially confirmed that its latest foray into mobile gaming, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for iOS and Android, will be released on the App Store and Google Play precisely two weeks from today.
The 10th Anniversary Edition of the highly-acclaimed ‘80s-throwback crime sim will be available on December 6th for £2.99 / $4.99 on both platforms and brings the full experience of the original 2002 title to the iPhone iPod touch, iPad and a whole host of Android devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X and Google Nexus 4.
The mobile/tablet-optimised title will feature numerous enhancements ‘unique to the iOS and Android platforms’, such as Retina support, updated character models, improved lighting and a fully customisable control layout.
Vice City, in case you never had the pleasure of visiting, is loosely based on Miami where you fill the shoes of Tommy Vercetti, a member of the notorious Liberty City mafia.
Vercetti has just been released from prison after serving a 15-year sentence for manslaughter, and is trying to make a fresh start (in crime, obviously) in a world of pastel suits, neon lights, fast cars and fast women. Sounds really good, right?
Assuming you’re old enough, this is definitely one of those titles that should be on your radar, regardless of whether you’ve ever played the original or any Grand Theft Auto title.
