Google Magazines have at long last landed in the UK, giving Brits the option of reading their favourite periodicals on their Android smartphones and tablets.
Fandroids in Blighty can now visit a dedicated ‘My Magazines’ section of the Google Play store where they will find a selection of some of the biggest publications in the UK and elsewhere in digital format, including the likes of HELLO!, SciFiNow and Wired.
Similar to Newsstand on iOS, you can pay for individual issues or sign up to monthly and yearly subscriptions (prices and availability may vary). Some magazines are also completely free, such as ShortList, while many offer free issues and trials, so it's definitely worth checking those out first if you’re not sure what to expect.
Magazines will be available for you to download on any number of devices you use with the account you’ve purchased them with. However, the option to sync your reading between a mobile phone and tablet does not exist yet, but should be available eventually.
To see what’s in store, simply head over to the Google Play app on your Android device. You can also access them via a web browser at play.google.com/store/magazines
