Specs for a tablet-smartphone halfway-house handset from HTC have emerged online, as the marginalised gadget-maker bids to make a comeback in 2013.
Dubbed the HTC M7, the phone is rumoured to house a five-inch HD screen, an undeniably lavish 13 megapixel snapper and a Qualcomm APQ8064 quad-core processor.
In a nod to HTC kits from years gone by, it’ll also feature a unibody aluminium exterior, according to HTCSource, and will land early next year to allow it to grab tech-site column inches before the expected arrival of the planet-straddling telecoms titan that is Samsung’s Galaxy S4 in March.
News of HTC’s lead device for 2013 comes after a disappointing last 12 months for the phone-maker, as it continued to cede market and mind share to Android rival Samsung and Apple in the smartphone market.
In October, it announced a 79 per cent drop in third-quarter profits year-on-year, contrasting with Samsung confirming record profits for the same period.
