Motorola Razr i Android Jelly Bean update now available in the UK

Android Jelly Bean is finally rolling out for the Motorola Razr i, adding an array of new features and improvements to the flagship handset.

Announced via the official Motorola blog, the most up-to-date version of Google’s platform – Android 4.1.2 – is now available to download for Razr i owners in the UK, some five months after the handset hit store shelves.

Among the host of improvements it brings are numerous performance optimisations – collectively known as ‘project butter’ – for a slicker, smoother user experience, notifications that are now grouped by applications and can be accessed with a simple tap and offline voice typing for those must-share rants on the Tube.

It also brings Google Now, a voice-guided personal assistant in the same vein as Apple’s Siri, but with a nifty interface that stores and automatically updates your searches on little cards.

As always, the update is hitting unlocked versions of the handset first, with those bought on contract facing a slightly longer wait as networks give it their seal of approval.
