Samsung will hit tech fans with a phablet and tablet one-two punch in September, reports suggest.
According to an insider cited by Sam Mobile, the handset-maker will debut the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Tab 3 at Berlin’s IFA 2013 expo, meaning both will arrive in time to capture a slice of the burgeoning Christmas market for tablets.
The Note 3’s spec sheet is expected to take in a much larger screen than the current-generation model. Depending on who you believe, this could be 5.9 inches, or a whopping 6.3 inches and will feature the same HD resolution and OLED technology as the Galaxy S4.
Details about the Galaxy Tab 3 are similarly hard to come by. But rumours in the tech press indicate it could arrive in seven-inch and ten-inch screen options, with some variants equipped with 4G LTE connectivity.
The mooted due date for Samsung’s next challengers looks to position them in a fight to the death with the much-rumoured, first-ever phablet-sized iPhone and a new Retina display-equipped edition of the iPad mini.
