Nokia teases ‘Next Lumia’ in UK TV ad, highlights camera and metal casing

Nokia has unveiled a new television commercial ahead of what looks to be the imminent debut of an all-new Lumia smartphone.

Hot on the heels of announcing the Lumia 928 stateside, where it’s exclusive to Verizon, the Finnish phone-maker looks ready to bring its next flagship challenger to the UK, after airing a short promo for a mysterious phone during a commercial break on Channel 4.

The teaser shows intimate close-ups of the as-yet unnamed handset’s camera lens and flash, accompanied by the words “more than your eyes can eye”.

While this is purely speculative, we think what we’re looking at could be the much-rumoured Lumia ‘Catwalk’, which is expected to feature an aluminium casing and potentially a PureView lens, which would be a first for a Window Phone device.

Fortunately we only have to wait one more day to find out for sure, as Nokia is set to lift the curtain on its next Lumia smartphone tomorrow (May 14th).

Meanwhile, Vodafone UK has already confirmed that it will be on board for the launch of Nokia's new handset.

In a post on its company blog, the network said: "We're proud to be able to say that (even though our lips are firmly sealed ahead of the launch) Vodafone UK will be stocking the next chapter in the Lumia story."

Stay tuned for our coverage of developments as they happen.
