Samsung has announced its biggest ever marketing splash to promote the release of its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4.
The electronics giant said it would be unleashing a seven-week marketing campaign to support the handset’s recent UK debut, as it bids to build on the phenomenal success of the Galaxy S3.
Among its schedule are primetime spots for a TV commercial highlighting the Galaxy S4’s ‘people-inspired innovations’ and on-demand video that’ll air during ITV1’s Champions League coverage and Britain’s Got Talent.
Advertisements will also be shown in cinemas nationwide targeting blockbuster releases such as Star Trek: Into Darkness, The Great Gatsby and Man of Steel.
Additional promotions will include print ads on newspapers, social media campaigns and Samsung’s so-called ‘experiential’ booths at key public locations such as Westfield shopping malls.
Simon Stanford, Vice President of Samsung Mobile, UK & Ireland, said: “The Galaxy S3 was the UK’s number one handset for ten consecutive months and became Samsung’s fastest and biggest selling smartphone to date. Therefore there has been a huge amount of buzz around its successor, the Galaxy S4, so we wanted to create a campaign that reflected this.
“With features such as Sound and Shot and Group Play enabling meaningful moments and a feeling of togetherness amongst people, we believe we have created a campaign that embodies the human nature of the Galaxy S4.”
Available right now through all major UK networks and retailers, the Galaxy S4’s standout features include a five-inch full HD display, a 1.9GHz quad-core processor and a 13-megapixel camera.
It also brings an array of new software features, including Smart Pause, which automatically pauses videos when you’re not watching, and Air Gesture that lets you scroll content by simply waving your hand over the screen.
