The fabled low-cost iPhone will come in the same colour options as the iPhone 4 bumpers available now on the Apple site, according to a Japanese blog.
An insider cited by MacOtakara claims that the handset we’re choosing to call the iPhone 5S will be available in black, white, pink, orange and blue, which are the same colourways as Apple’s range of official smartphone protectors for the fourth-gen iPhone. A red kit is also under consideration.
Plans for a green shade have apparently been ditched, however. As for the gold hue as suggested by SIM trays that leaked online earlier this month, this is reserved for the full size iPhone refresh, we're assured.
The site’s claims come amid a separate report indicating that difficulties producing an iPhone in fresh colourways and Apple’s exacting standards are to blame for a delay in the production of new additions to its smartphone range.
Apple is now expected to introduce two handsets around September or October, with the cheaper model aimed principally at fast-growing markets in Asia where Android currently has the whip hand.
