Samsung’s pared-down Galaxy S4 Mini is being primed for launch at a major event in London next week. But online retailers have already revealed price plans that suggest the device certainly won’t be 'Mini' when it comes to cost.
UK online emporium Handtec has slapped the S4 Mini with a massive £389.99 SIM-free price tag, over £100 more than the 16GB edition of Google’s Nexus 4.
Samsung Ukraine, meanwhile, has said it’ll be flogging the device for around US $600 - that's also not too far shy of £400.
If the prices are proved to be official, it’ll suggest Samsung is looking to get rid of these devices on cheap, long-term contracts, rather than selling them outright.
However, with Apple also prepping a budget version of its iPhone, it’ll need to tread carefully to ensure it doesn’t price itself out of the market.
The just-announced Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini packs a 4.3-inch HD screen, the latest Android Jelly Bean software, an eight-megapixel camera and a dual-core processor.
