Apple appears to be making a concerted effort to trademark the iWatch brand around the globe, with the Cupertino company filing applications in three more countries.
Law firms in Mexico, Taiwan and Turkey have all submitted plans from Apple to the relevant authorities to ensure it has first dibs on the iWatch name.
Those moves come after it was revealed Tim Cook and co made similar applications in both Russia and Japan on June 3rd.
Today’s news also carried initial suggestions about the iWatch’s colour, black, although the original report from MacRumors has since rowed back on these claims.
Apple is said to have over 100 staff working on its iWatch project, with rumours flying that it’ll have biometric security and be able to hook up to and control iOS devices when it does eventually launch.
The device is not expected to hit shelves until late 2014.
