HTC is lining up a second phablet for launch later this year to go alongside its much-rumoured HTC One Max.
Codenamed HTC Zara, this model will be a cheaper alternative, packing a plastic frame instead of a metal one.
Further details are unclear, but HTC's CEO has made it clear before that the company needs to serve up cheap options to entice new punters.
The HTC One, a moderate commercial success, has been outshone by Samsung’s heavily marketed Galaxy S4.
Rumours of the aforementioned HTC One Max have also amped up, with more spec details emerging.
The 5.9-inch device will cram in 1080p HD smarts, next-gen Android 4.3 and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
Both the HTC Zara and HTC One Max are likely to be revealed in September, with Samsung and Apple also said to be readying new devices for the autumn.
