Apple’s supply chain has been especially leaky in recent weeks. And the flood of budget iPhone-related info got that little bit more torrential today after fresh snaps of the handset surfaced online.
Brought to us by Apple Daily, the latest photos of Apple’s phone show the same five colour options (red, yellow, green, blue and white) that we’ve seen in separate leaks.
The images also depict a device that sticks fast to the design of the iPhone 5 and features the long-rumoured plastic exterior that Apple is expected to adopt to keep the handset’s asking price down.
According to the site’s sources, the phone will also be between 2-3mm thicker than the current-gen model, while retaining its four-inch screen. That jars with rumours that Apple may opt for a smaller, 3.5-inch form factor for its low-cost contender.
Apple is thought to be lining up the cheaper iPhone for launch a few weeks after a fresh version of the standard, full-fat iPhone drops in September.
Price estimates for the handset, which is principally aimed at markets in the developing world where more affordable Android phones dominate, range from under £100 to £249.
