Google is prepping an update to its Nexus 10, with a new model being primed for release later this year.
That’s according to Wall Street Journal (WSJ) journalist Amir Efrati, who has got the word direct from Android chief Sundar Pichai.
Revealing the news on Twitter, Efrati said: “Expect to see new 10-inch Nexus 10 Android tablet (made by @Samsung) in the near future, Google's @sundarpichai tells me.”
Samsung made the current-gen Google Nexus 10, so it’s no surprise that it’s back on board to help develop the Big G’s new super-sized slate.
Earlier this week, Google revealed its new Nexus 7, replete with stunning Full HD screen, 4G smarts and a rejigged design.
The device is set to start at just £199 here in the UK, with the top-end 32GB, 4G version costing just £299. It looks set to give the iPad mini some seriously stiff competition.
And with a new Nexus 10 in the works, surely now Google will fancy its chances of taking down Apple’s full-sized iPad too.
