Google looks set to start selling a new version of its Nexus 7 tablet next week, according to leaked documents seen by Engadget, with tablets hitting shops as soon as July 20th.
That’s ahead of Google’s big July 24th event, at which it’s expected to show off the new slate and a host of other products and services.
The slate will apparently pack 32GB of storage and cost a penny shy of $270 across The Pond.
There’s no word on a 16GB edition, but seeing as Google likes to offer cheaper devices to ensnare punters from Apple and Amazon’s clutches, it seems likely one will be available.
Gossip online points to a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 4GB of RAM, with the design staying largely the same.
Whether Google can take on Amazon’s forthcoming range of new Kindle Fire tablets and win remains to be seen. But this at least makes it look like it has a great chance.
