Sony’s much lusted-after SmartWatch 2 will not be hitting shelves this week as planned.
Instead, the trail–blazing device will now launch on September 9th, giving competitors, such as Samsung, time to deliver rival products.
The news was revealed by retailer Clove on its listings page for the timepiece.
“At all times we provide the most accurate information we can based on data we are supplied. It has transpired that the date of the 15th July given by Sony’s distribution arm was incorrect,” reads its statement.
Revealed earlier this month, Sony’s SmartWatch 2 is a far more powerful version of its predecessor.
It can pair with smartphones via NFC and uses Bluetooth to mirror notifications from your device onto your wrist.
It can also be used to control music and power sports apps when out running. Sony has promised more apps following the device’s launch.
