The back cover for the fabled low-cost iPhone has cropped up online once more. This time in a clip showing the handset in a summery yellow colourway.
Sourced by Sonny Dickson, whose record with Apple leaks is pretty exemplary, the shell matches earlier leaks to a tee, adding more weight to speculation that the plastic iPhone is very real indeed.
The latest leak comes as Dickson also slipped out photos of buttons intended for the handset seemingly dubbed the iPhone 5C (the ‘C’ apparently stands for ‘colour’), as the forthcoming phone begins to take shape ahead of its anticipated unveiling on September 10th.
Apple is believed to have kept the cost of the handset down by ditching premium materials and recycling parts from earlier models.
To differentiate the phone from its top-end stablemate (that’s the smartphone variously titled the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, depending on who you believe), the phone-maker is thought to be fitting the 5C with a stripped down version of its iOS software.
