4G Google Nexus 7 on sale now from Google Play in the UK

The latest version of Google's Nexus 7 tablet is now available in a 4G variety here in the UK. The 4G model launched last week in the US, and has finally made it to Google Play over here.

It's only available in a 32GB capacity, and costs £299 - that's £60 more than the 3G version with the same storage.

The device comes unlocked, so you can choose which of the UK's 4G operators you opt for.

Delivery is pretty quick too, with the Nexus 7 landing on your doormat one to two days after you order.

The device is enabled for 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, too. So you could pick up the LTE option, then wait for 4G prices to come down before taking advantage of the nippier speeds.

The latest Nexus 7 was released in the UK at the end of last month. It boasts a 1,920x1,200-pixel display with a 1080p resolution and a pixel per inch rate of 323. Inside is a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and it runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Amazon is expected to launch a new range of Kindle Fire tablets before the end of the month. The 7-inch Fire HD is thought to have the same screen resolution as the Nexus 7.
