It's iPhone day! Both the 5s and 5c are on sale right now, either from bricks-and-mortar shops, or online. But if you're after the gold version of the 5s, you might be disappointed.
The handset in that finish is in short supply, it seems. It's listed in the Apple Store online as due for delivery in October. The 5s in the other two colours will take longer than the 5c to arrive as well, with a wait of seven to 10 business days. The 5c should take one to three business days to arrive.
The iPhone 5s wasn't available for pre-order, hinting Apple might not have made enough of the handset. It features a new, controversial fingerprint scanner, which does away with the need to enter a PIN code to unlock it. It also lets you verify online purchases without having to enter a password.
The iPhone 5c is slightly cheaper, though nowhere near as affordable as rumours suggested. It comes in five bright colours, along with the silicone case in the same hues.
The case for the 5c was thought to be in short supply as well. Just a few days ago, Apple gave a delivery time of one to two weeks. Though that seems to have been resolved, as it's now listed as being dispatched in one to two business days.
