Microsoft has revealed its second attempt at cornering the tablet space, unleashing its new Surface 2 convertible slate. A with the original, you can use the tablet to swipe through apps and web pages, or connect it to a dedicated keyboard.
The Surface 2 packs Full 1080p video skills, unlike its Surface RT predecessor, with a pared down version of Windows 8.1 running under the hood. There’s a 5 megapixel camera round the back and a 3.5 megapixel effort up front for video calling.
The main draw, though, is the NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor which keeps the whole thing ticking. The Big M reckons this will give it a decent 10 hour battery life, plenty for watching movies on that sharp 10.1-inch screen.
The Surface 2 is due to hit shelves on October 22nd, coming in at £359 for the 32GB model and £439 for the beefier 64GB version.
