Three 4G rollout detailed

Three has revealed more details about the launch of its 4G network, with 42 towns and cities across the UK set to get in on the action during 2014.

What’s more it’s said that Reading will also be getting its 4G service by the end of 2013, alongside London, Manchester and Birmingham.

Three punters in the latter two locales will also be chuffed to hear that coverage isn’t just a city-centre affair.

Birmingham’s coverage will also take in the nearby towns of Wolverhampton, Dudley and West Bromwich, while Manchester’s Three 4G network will stretch all the way to Oldham.

Only Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow will be getting Three 4G in Scotland, while Wales is being seriously short-changed, with just Cardiff included. A full list of Three’s 4G rollout sites can be seen on its official website.

Three has promised that it will offer 4G at no extra cost to existing customers, as well as being the only 4G network to serve up all-you-can-eat data. However, speeds are set to be somewhat slower than EE.
