Xbox Music lands on iOS and Android

Microsoft has confirmed that its music streaming service, Xbox Music, is ready to roll on both Android and iOS. The Spotify rival is up for grabs now across The Pond.

The service allows users to access as much music as they want for $9.99 a month, or $99.99 for an annual pass.

There are limitations, however. Xbox Music doesn’t offer offline playback on either app, with an update ‘in the coming months’ in order to fix this glaring omission.

Seeing as this is a key Spotify and Rdio feature on smartphones, it seems bizarre the Big M didn’t get it sorted to start with.

There’s also the small matter of this currently being Stateside only. A search for the service on Google Play and the App Store this morning threw up nary a mention of the new app.

That said, if you’re already a US user of Xbox Music, this at least means you don’t need two subscriptions in order to listen to tunes on the move via your iOS or Android blower.
