GTA San Andreas, Rockstar’s gaming classic, is heading to iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Gamers desperate to roll back the years will be able to snaffle the title from next month.
Revealing the news on its official blog, Rockstar said the game had been remastered for mobile, with rejigged graphics that should make it look sharper than the original.
What’s more, there are proper touchscreen controls and newly reworked checkpoints, too, so you don’t need to start a mission right from the beginning if you take a hit or accidentally blow yourself up.
With the huge success of GTA V on Xbox 360 and PS3, Rockstar will be hoping punters who’ve finished that epic effort will turn to their phones to play the original, replete with its early 90s hip-hop soundtrack, groups of gangbangers and pimped-out cars.
Rockstar has already enjoyed success on mobile with its rereleases of GTA III and GTA Vice City, as well as the specifically designed GTA Chinatown Wars.
