LG Optimus G Flex in shops on Friday, but not to buy

LG's first curved mobile, the Optimus G Flex, will hit UK shops this Friday, so you'll be able to get hands-on with it and see if a bendy display really does fit your face better.

The only downside? You won't be able to actually buy it for another couple of months.

EE has confirmed it'll have the G Flex in 10 of its shops starting from Friday. But it won't actually start selling it until February.

The 10 shops displaying the G Flex include three in London, Kent, Nottingham, Manchester, Brighton, Cambridge, Merry Hill, and Sheffield.

The G Flex is one of two curved phones that were announced recently. It's designed to fit your face better - a bit like a banana phone - while the Samsung Galaxy Round is curved on the horizontal axis.

The Round is meant to sit on its back on a desk, and when you nudge it, it tips up, and shows you all your notifications. Samsung's designers reckon this will be easier than picking it up to check who's contacted you.

Curved phones have been in the works for a while, but these are the first two to actually make it past the concept stage.
