Samsung’s phablet has become the latest smartphone to join the bling-ring set, with the announcement that a gold edition of the Galaxy Note 3 is incoming.
The, ahem, 'Rose Gold White' edition of the handset comes hard on the heels of the golden version of the HTC One and the gold iPhone 5S, aka the smartphone that kicked off the current vogue for the colourway.
Alongside the glitzy/gaudy [delete according to personal sentiment] colour option, Samsung has also announced an altogether more sedate ‘Merlot Red’ model.
It’s not yet clear if the new colours will be ranged exclusively by select UK carriers or retailers. But we’d be very, very surprised if some golden-handcuffs deals aren’t in place. Especially given Samsung’s form with the pink iteration of the Note 3, which was solely available from Phones4u throughout November.
Cosmetic respray aside, the new Note 3 models are unchanged. That means their spec-sheet highlights take in a trademark S-Pen stylus, a planet-spanning 5.7-inch, eyeball-tickling AMOLED HD display and 2.3Ghz quad-core processor.
