Desperate to snag a pair of Google Glass smart specs? Well, the Big G has a New Year treat for you. Mountain View is widening its Google Glass explorer programme and is offering the futuristic frames to subscribers to its Play Music All Access service.
Announcing its plans via an email, Google said: “With the launch of Google Play Music on Google Glass, we’ve secured VIP invitations for All Access customers to join the Glass Explorer Program. Interested in rocking out while exploring with Glass? Sign up to receive your invitation below!”
Signing-up doesn’t score you a free pair of specs. You’ll need to pay $1,500 (£900) for the privilege and have a US shipping address in order to play nice.
If those aren’t stumbling blocks, though, then you’ll be among a select band using the wearable kit.
Google updates Glass’s software weekly, tweaking and fixing bugs while adding heftier new features.
Glass is expected to get a commercial release later in 2014. But if you can’t wait and are already plugged into Google’s music streaming platform, then adding a Play Music All Access subscription to your monthly outlay looks to be the way to go.
