Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite gets official

Samsung has officially unveiled its new Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, after a string of leaks at the start of the year.

The new slate offers pared down specs compared to its full-fat stablemates. The 7-inch display has a resolution of just 1024 x 600 pixels and is backed up by a dual-core processor and 8GB of storage.

There’s microSD support for stashing extra content, but you won’t find a front-facing camera for making video calls. The rear snapper comes in at just two megapixels, so don’t go expecting great things from that either. Android 4.2 completes the picture.

Samsung has yet to come clean on price, although there’s speculation abroad that it’ll come in at less than £100 here in the UK. With such low-end specs, it really should be that cheap, especially as key rivals such as Tesco’s superb Hudl offer better specs for a similar price tag.

There is no release date, but expect to see the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite on show at next month’s Mobile World Congress.
