Virgin Media has confirmed it will be ranging the Samsung Galaxy S5 from the day of release and has announced some sweeteners for would-be buyers.
In a bid to differentiate its offering from rival carriers, Virgin is offering customers who are signed up for its broadband and TV services free insurance when they buy an S5, as well as £5 off their monthly tariff.
Virgin is the second UK network to disclose plans for a deal-sweetener, after EE announced that early birds who pre-order the handset will qualify for an unnamed “exclusive incentive”.
The news comes as Virgin prepares to join Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4U and EE launch its pre-registration scheme later today.
Signing up ensures you get updates and stock levels, tariffs and availability. And, in theory at least, should mean you give yourself the best chance of getting hold of a spanking-new S5 amid the inevitable fanboy stampede and supply shortages.
Unveiled yesterday at Mobile World Congress, the Galaxy S5 officially goes on sale on April 11th.
Pricing has yet to be confirmed, but rumours suggest it could be priced more competitively than earlier Galaxy S efforts.
