Viral gaming hit Flappy Bird may make an unlikely comeback, after its creator dropped the biggest hint yet that he’s reconsidering his decision to pull the plug on the successful title.
Speaking with Rolling Stone, Dong Nguyen said he's "considering it" when quizzed about whether he was keen to put the game up for grabs once more.
Nguyen initially withdrew the bestselling app from sale after he received a torrent of abuse from punters struggling to get past the initial stages of the fiendishly difficult game. He was also forced to deny he had made millions of dollars.
iPhones with Flappy Bird installed were placed on eBay with a $10,000 price tag in the days after the game was removed. However, it appears Nguyen’s change of heart may mean someone has paid over the odds in their quest to conquer 2014’s most talked about app.
