Apple’s newly released iOS 7.1 software appears to be breaking some users’ Personal Hotspot feature, with iPhone owners taking to the company’s official discussion boards to complain.
Punters who use the function have found that they are unable to input APN settings, therefore losing the ability to tether their devices. This is a particular problem for those who don’t have easy access to Wi–Fi.
A lengthy discussion board, running to 15 pages, shows that Apple representatives are saying the issue lies at the door of networks. However, networks are claiming that this is a device–based problem and is down to Apple’s dodgy software.
The news comes after a series of complaints about iOS 7.1 causing excessive amounts of battery drain for some users. Reports have emerged of iPhone owners finding their devices running out of juice twice as fast since installing iOS 7.1.
Apple has yet to officially respond to either problem.
