Google Nexus 5 owners and anyone with a phone running Android 4.4 KitKat can now watch on-demand shows with Virgin TV Anywhere, after the quad-play operator brought support for the app to kits powered by Google’s OS iteration.
The application-cum-service, which Virgin is keen to stress offers more live TV than Sky Go and features 2,500 hours of on-demand content, is free to Virgin Media TV customers.
It also enables users to remotely manage and delete shows from their Tivo set top boxes and set it to record upcoming programmes.
Compatible devices now take in iPads, iPhones and iPod touches, as well as a suite of Android tablets and smarties. Among them are the Google Nexus 4, Samsung’s Galaxy S range from the S2 through to the S4, as well as the Galaxy Note 2 and the HTC One.
Virgin has also added CITV to the list of channels available to view on TV Anywhere, bringing the total nmber of live channels to 91. The number viewable on mobiles and tablets now stands at 68.
