Apple plans to bring the iPhone 5S's Touch ID fingerprint scanner to all its forthcoming iOS products, it appears.

That’s the word from always-on-the-money analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who says shipments of the module are soaring as production of new Apple kit ramps up.

“We believe every new iOS device launched this year will be equipped with Touch ID, including [the] 4.7” and 5.5” new iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 2 with Retina display,” said Kuo in a new research note for investors.

Such a move would make sense after the huge success of the iPhone 5S and it biometric technology feature.

The Touch ID-packing phone has outstripped its cheaper iPhone 5C stablemate, with users seemingly more than happy to pay extra for improved security.

Apple is said to be planning on making Touch ID units more durable, using tin to make them less susceptible to bumps and scrapes.

The iPhone 6 is expected to launch in early autumn, with new iPads due to follow in the weeks after.
