Low-cost handset manufacturer Huawei has exclusively confirmed to uSwitch which retailers and networks will be stocking the new Huawei Ascend P7 in the UK.
In a one-to-one meeting, Richard Ren, President of Huawei's consumer division in Europe, revealed that EE and Carphone Warehouse will carry the just-unveiled super-slim, 6.5mm-thick handset on these shores.
Ren also sketched out plans for a close partnership with EE and a tie-up with Carphone that will see Huawei handsets sold and promoted in the retailer’s network of high-street outlets.
Ren explained: "We have a strategic cooperation with Carphone Warehouse.
"In almost every Carphone Warehouse shops, there will be Huawei's phones - from the high tier to the low tier.
"Also, we see that Everything Everywhere is the leading UK player in the UK market, and this year we will launch a full range of LTE devices with Everything Everywhere."
News of Huawei’s plans come amid impressive early notices for the Ascend P7, which features 4G LTE support, Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and an eight-megapixel camera that’s apparently custom-designed for group selfies. Or ‘groufies’, as Huawei would have us call them.
