iPhone 6: Renders of 4.7–inch device leaked

Renders of Apple’s forthcoming 4.7–inch iPhone 6 have been leaked in China, giving us vital clues as to what to expect when the next-gen handset goes from rumour to reality later this year.

The designs, believed to be made for Apple’s main manufacturing partner Foxconn, back up a number of previous rumours about the new device.

The images show a handset significantly larger than the current flagship iPhone 5S. The new phone is said to measure 138 x 67mm, with a series of design tweaks that’ll set it apart from the current iPhone range.

The volume keys are rectangular, with the power button moved to the side of the phone owing to the larger frame. That's in line with chatter doing the rounds earlier this month.

There’s also a more rounded look, with Apple set to ditch the squared-off finish which it has used since 2010’s iPhone 4.

Apple is due to launch the iPhone 6 later this year. Reports suggest this smaller 4.7-inch model could precede the larger 5.5–inch phablet, with an August release date mooted.
