Three has added three new destinations to its Feel At Home offering, taking the number of countries where users don’t get charged extra for using their phones when abroad to 16.
France, Finland, Norway, Switzerland and Israel will become part of Feel At Home from July 1st. The move means punters can use their standard data, minutes and texts in those countries without incurring additional charges.
Calls to foreign numbers are not included, much in the same way that calls to different climes are charged at a higher rate at home. The package is available to all Three customers, regardless of tariff and users don’t need to tell the network that they’re travelling.
Three has already seen huge success with Feel At Home, which is already available in countries including the United States, Australia, Italy and Ireland.
Despite the fact that roaming charges are due to fall significantly in the European Union from July 1st, all other networks insist on users either buying special travel bolt-ons if they want to enjoy at-home rates while on holiday or travelling for work.
“Roaming charges are a rip-off and Three is tackling the issue head-on,” said Dave Dyson, Three’s CEO.
“We haven’t just reduced charges; we’ve now scrapped them in 16 destinations, making it fairer, easier and more enjoyable to use your phone abroad.”
