iPhone 6 camera: New leak shows changes to True Tone flash

More iPhone 6 parts are beginning to fall into place, with newly leaked snaps of the forthcoming handset’s camera module showing off plans for its True Tone flash.

The tweaked flash, which debuted on last year’s iPhone 5S, appears to be round, unlike the pill–shaped effort seen on the 2013 model.

That allows Apple to offer a more streamlined design and fits with previous leaks of the handset’s rear shell, which show a round hole for the flash unit.

These new details come as part of a wider leak, which shows the camera on a larger component featuring a power button and microphone.

That Apple has been able to squeeze white and amber lights onto such a small space suggests it’s making plans for some major updates for the iPhone 6’s camera. Image stabilisation and a beefed-up megapixel count are both expected.

The iPhone 6 is due to launch on September 9th, with rumours swirling that the phone will go on sale, at least in its 4.7–inch form, on September 19th.
