iPhone 6: New leak shows scratch-resistant Apple logo

A new leak of the iPhone 6’s rear shell appears to show off Apple’s plans for an embedded logo on the rear of the device. The part, snaffled by luxury iPhone modifiers Feld and Volk, is said to be made of a scratch-resistant alloy.

The component appears to put to bed claims that Apple is planning on using the logo as a light-up notification tool. That rumour was fuelled by leaks which showed the rear shell of the handset with a cut-out logo.

Other new images from the same source show plans for more recessed volume controls and a new, protruding camera part.

The latter is said to be reserved for the larger 5.5–inch iPhone 6, with the smaller 4.7-inch model having a flat design.

Apple is believed to be holding its iPhone 6 launch event on September 9th, with a view to releasing at least one of its two handsets ten days later, on Friday 19th September.
