Samsung and Barnes & Noble have announced a joint event for August 20th. Seeing as back in June, the two companies announced they would be working together on Galaxy Tab 4 Nook tablets, it's not too much of an assumption to think we'll see these devices unveiled on the 20th.
Samsung hasn't revealed as much yet. All the invite says is: "Join us as the best of both worlds come together."
So what can we expect? Chance are we'll see a Galaxy Tab device that's somehow optimised for e-book reading. Though exactly how remains a mystery. A second e-ink screen, perhaps? Maybe that's too much to ask for.
We've heard murmurings of a 7-inch Galaxy Tab 4 Nook coming to the US at some point this month. It's said to have a 1,280x800-pixel screen, 1.2GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and a microSD card slot.
Samsung could be hoping to replicate the success of the Galaxy Tab S, which has a best-in-class 2,560x1,600-pixel screen giving it a pixel per inch count of 353ppi. E-books are sure to look mighty sharp on that.
We've not long to find out what the two companies have in store. Put August 20th in your diaries.
