Despite boldly announcing that the Apple Watch would cost from $350 when it launches early next year, the Cupertino company has kept its counsel about pricing for the higher-end watches in its new range.
However, a new report from France claims to have got the inside line on at least some of Apple’s plans.
iGen.fr claims an anonymous contact has told it that the stainless steel version of its phone will cost $400 (£250), while the top of the range gold edition will come in at $5,000 (£3,130).
While these prices should be treated with caution, the fact that they are on the high side should come as no surprise.
Apple is known for its premium pricing and the gold version would be on a par with the more expensive, fashion-led watches that Apple is hoping to take on.
The report also claims that Apple wants to release its watch on February 14th 2015.
That despite news earlier this week that the company’s retail chief had told store staff in an email that the device would be launching next spring.
