HTC’s plans for its next flagship smartphone appear to have leaked via a Chinese source. The handset, dubbed the One M9, has previously been pegged for a spring release.
Specs are said to include a 5.5–inch quad HD screen, with HTC seemingly opting to ditch its divisive Ultra Pixel camera for a 16-megapixel shooter with optical image stabilisation smarts.
A Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM are thought to keep things ticking under the bonnet.
The handset is likely to run Android Lollipop out of the box, with HTC believed to be plotting 32, 64 and 128GB editions of the phone, each expandable via microSD.
HTC has had a successful 2014, turning a profit after two years of tapering sales and decreased market share.
Its One M9 will most likely make a starring appearance at next February’s Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
