BlackBerry has revealed an exclusive new version of its Passport smartphone. Clad in black and gold, only 50 units of the handset are going on sale.
Luxury phone fans and those with wages to rival second–tier footballers will be disappointed to learn that the handset isn’t made of actual gold. Rather, it’s stainless steel given the gold treatment.
However, the phone does feature a real leather exterior, making it something a touch fancier than the average BlackBerry Passport. And there’s an engraving option so you can personalise your phone too.
BlackBerry is selling the 50 phones for $899 (£593) in the United States, although with such limited numbers you’ll need to hurry. Still, at least it’s not as pricey as its recent Porsche Design device.
The BlackBerry Passport’s unique square design has attracted plenty of attention, but hasn’t helped the Canadian company get back to the very top.
Earlier this month it denied rumours that it was about to be taken over by Samsung.
