Google has added an option to share directions with other users from within its Maps for Android app.
The update, which is rolling out now, offers a dedicated ‘Share Directions’ tab within the app’s menu. This offers a series of text directions and a link, which can then be sent via a series of compatible apps.
That means you can send pals directions using the likes of Gmail, Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.
Previously, sharing options have only been limited to sending a dropped pin, not always handy when the person you’re connecting with has an appalling sense of direction.
Send information to an iPhone user and they can also open the directions directly into their Google Maps app.
The update can be found now on Google Play, with automatic rollout available in case you want your phone to do the legwork for you.
