A new curved Samsung phone could be on the way, after Serial leakster @upleaks suggested Samsung has a sequel to the Galaxy Round in the works.
@upleaks tweeted: "Samsung new high-end: SM-G930." Admittedly that's not exactly concrete. But it's fair to assume it's a Galaxy Round handset he's referring to.
The original Galaxy Round had the model number SM-G910. That's 10 higher than the S5 (SM-G900). The Galaxy S6 is expected to bear the model number SM-G920, so it follows that SM-G930 would be a new Galaxy Round.
LG recently outed the successor to its bendy blower, the Optimus G Flex.
There's a chance Samsung doesn't want to be left behind in the battle of the bendy blowers. It's certainly the kind of me-too attitude that's typical of Samsung.
When LG released the first phone with a 2K screen – the G3 – Samsung immediately outed a new model of the Galaxy S5 with a 2K display too, even though it was only available in its native South Korea.
The original Galaxy Round had a 5.7-inch screen which curved up at the sides, as opposed to the G Flex, which curves at the top and bottom (earning it the moniker 'the banana phone').
Samsung could unleash this new handset at Mobile World Congress, so stay tuned for more.
