Being an early adopter can be an expensive business.
That's generally never more the case than when it comes the premium prices and monthly rates networks affix to new smartphones when they first hit the market.
But the good news for those of us who must have the latest tech from the get-go is that very occasionally it actually pays to be ahead of the curve.
Last week for instance, UK carriers launched a slew of pre-order incentives for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, many of which were enhanced with a slew of freebies and deal sweeteners.
Below, we take a look at what networks are offering if you order the handsets ahead of their April 10th streetdate. And we'll highlight the deals we think are the best around.
Keen to find out more about the standard Galaxy S6 instead? We've got a whistlestop guide for that too.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge pre-order deals on EE
The Galaxy S6 is available on a range of EE plans. But for us the pick is £43.49 per month over 24 months on EE's 4G Extra Plan. Plus a one-off charge of £49.99.
That gets you unlimited minutes and texts every month and a pretty hefty 4GB of 4G data.
If you're eyeing the Galaxy S6 Edge on the same plan, expect to pay £53.49 per month with £49.99 upfront.
Once again, calls and texts are unlimited. But you get a whopping 20GB of data per month too.
Pre-order customers for both phones who also buy a Samsung wireless charger qualify for a £20 voucher to be used against official Samsung cases.
EE is also throwing in wireless calling, so you can make and receive calls and texts using Wi-Fi in areas where mobile internet coverage is patchy.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge pre-order deals on Tesco Mobile
Tesco Mobile is selling the standard Galaxy S6 from £36 per month, with no upfront charge on 3G and 4G plans.
Apart from the keen price point, the big sell here is that you'll get double the data allowance you'd normally get on this tariff.
That means you'll have 2GB of data to play with per month, along with 1,000 minutes and 5,000 texts.
The Galaxy S6 Edge is included on the same double-data deal. It's up for grabs for £43.50 per month, with no upfront charge and the same monthly allowances as the regular Galaxy S6.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 pre-order deals on Three
Pick up the Galaxy S6 on Three and prices start at £39 per month over 24 months, plus £49 upfront, on 3G and 4G plans.
Allowances are 1GB of data per month, as well as unlimited minutes and texts.
The Galaxy S6 Edge starts at £48 per month. A £49 upfront fee once again applies and you get 1GB of data every month and all you can eat texts and calls.
Three's major 'sell' for would-be buyers is its Feel at Home incentive. This lets customers use their handset abroad in 18 countries in Europe and further afield for no extra cost.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge pre-order deals on Vodafone
Vodafone's most attractive Galaxy S6 deal is £43.50 per month. There's no upfront charge and you get 2GB of 3G data per month, as well as unlimited texts and calls.
The Edge is priced from £48.50 per month for identical monthly allowances. As with the regular S6, no upfront fee applies.
Both handsets include a six-month free subscription to Spotify, NowTV or Sky Sports Mobile. And if you order through uSwitch you get a free £110 Amazon voucher too.
To snag 4G customers, Vodafone is offering a free wireless charging pad and phone case when you sign up for the L, XL or XXL tariffs. All of which include unlimited 4G data for three months with Voda's Test Drive promo.
