Google has revealed a major update to Chrome for iOS, adding a string of features that push it well beyond the native iPhone Safari browser and other rival apps.
Now, users of Chrome on an iPhone can swipe straight down to refresh a page, swipe down and left to open a tab or down and right to close one.
Chuck in support for password management tools such as 1Password and Lastpass, plus improved search bar smarts, including suggestions such as weather, stocks and copied URLs and you’re looking at the best browser for iOS bar none.
It all means that you only need reach up to the top of your iPhone’s screen if you want to tap in a new address or search term.
That should placate those who love the iPhone 6’s screen real estate, but aren’t so enamoured with not being able to use the device comfortably one-handed.
The update is available now via Google and the App Store.
