The first image of a prototype version of the LG Nexus 5 has surfaced from the web ether. And in line with last week’s uSwitch Tech handset renders, they confirm the phone will be home to a rear fingerprint scanner, which sits flush beneath the device’s protruding camera.
The handset in the image also features the rounded shape and dual flash snapper that were evident in the same renders, which were sourced on our behalf by @OnLeaks, AKA Steve Hemmerstoffer of Nowhereelse.fr.
Because we can only see the back of the device in the snap, we can’t take a good look at the 5.7-inch screen, buttons and the front-facing dual speakers that our leaked images revealed will be on board. But we’re sure we can get hold of some proper photos soon enough that's prove they're present and correct too.
The Nexus 5, which is 2015’s flagship Nexus phone, is set to be accompanied by a fresh take on the Nexus 6. This will be manufactured by Huawei, however, rather than the maker of last year’s effort, Motorola.
We also leaked renders of Nexus 6 last week, revealing it’s home to a 5.2-inch screen and the same rear fingerprint scanner. You can take a good look at the renders right here: Nexus 6 renders.
