Apple has revealed a series of updates for its iWork productivity suite, designed to take advantage of new tech in the latest iPhones and iPads.
While cosmetic changes aren’t forthcoming, Pages, Numbers and Keynote now play nice with Apple’s Force Touch and 3D Touch tech. The latter is only available on the new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, but should make working a lot snappier than at present.
Split View, Slide Over and picture in picture are also available on the updated apps, as Apple looks to improve its work offering for iOS users.
There’s also now the ability to preview docs on iOS and Android web browsers, making the service a touch more universal in approach.
When it revealed the iPad Pro last month, it did so alongside Microsoft, which showed off its latest Office tools on the device. That suggests that even Apple knows that its iWork product remains niche at best.
