Decided to finally snap up an Apple Watch after the release of the much–vaunted, game–changing watchOS 2? Well, you’ll have noticed that the promised launch of Facebook Messenger was conspicuous by its absence.
Until now, that is. The social network’s messaging tool now works as a fully installed third party app on the Apple Watch, allowing users to send missives without breaking out their iPhone.
Of course, the screen is too small for typing, but you can send emojis, likes and stickers, or speak into your wrist and send a voice clip if you want it to be a bit more personal.
The update comes as part of a wider upgrade for Facebook Messenger on iOS, with contacts visible from spotlight and improved iPad multitasking. You can snare the app now via the App Store.
