Apple is offering a discount on an Apple Watch to users who buy a brand new iPhone. The promotion, which is running in a handful of Apple stores, is for a limited time only.
Those buying an iPhone in Apple stores around Massachusetts and the Bay Area of California are being a given a $50 voucher to use on any Apple Watch except the top–end Apple Watch Edition and Apple Watch Hermes.
Apple confirmed the existence of the scheme last week and announced it would run until November 15th, but has not made it clear if it will rollout the discount throughout the US or bring it to the UK.
Inevitably, the move has raised questions about how well the Apple Watch is selling. Apple refuses to reveal its exact sales and instead lists the device alongside Mac accessories and iPods when it divulges sales figures every quarter.
Stories emerged over the summer suggesting the device had seen a massive sales decline after its initial on–sale date in April.
Apple refuted these reports. However, this latest promotion is highly unlike Apple, although it may well boost sales in the run–up to Christmas.
